I went to a pool party today, and the wonderful hostess sent me home with 4 Rice Krispie treats - 1 for each of my girls and 2 for me. They're my weakness.
In the five minute drive home, I ate every single one. I ate them quickly and secretly so the girls wouldn't notice mommy chowing down on yummies.
I feel guilty - not for pounding down so much crud in a matter of minutes, but because they were for my girls.
Am I a horrible mom? Probably.
But they were really yummy. The girls don't know what they missed.
I'm over it. ;)
This is the story of my life.
ReplyDeleteYou are COMPLETELY NORMAL..and if you're not, then neither am I. :-)
When dealing with food - we get VERY TECHNICAL in our home. Did she really "say" there was one for each of you...or was it just assumed? :-) Ha ha.
I do the same thing all the time. The only problem is...once the kids get older...they start remembering the "food that was sent home with them" and you can't get away with it as often. Bummer!
I'm new to your blog, this was a funny post. I totally do that too!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to decide if the guilt is from eating the food or from not giving it to your kids! ;)
It hard to eat something in the car without them seeing you. My latest.... melted hershey kisses. Um, that didn't work our so well! :)
Congrats on the boy!! If we are ever blessed with a baby girl I'll be hounding you for advice, because I am such a boy mom. It is so fun to see summer pictures. About the treats...technically you shared them with one of your children, although he won't remember it:).
ReplyDeleteGood for you... after weeks and weeks of puking you probably needed the sustenance, the girls would definitely understand.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't cringe... I love it.
